'a little odd' initially inspired by a pair of flip-flops ( i know, a little random!), was the first real venture into using more than a couple of colours and patterns in the 'pure' series. having previous work around me, especially the 'through the trees' paintings (other things section) i felt an added dimension felt right (then again i could be talking boolocks!)
the 'pure' series that explores short phrases or sentences. they are simple to look at, yet they can hide a complex process of colour choices, positioning and relationship to the text.
there's a saying that a picture paints a thousand words, but sometimes a phrase or a selection of words can raise questions or take you on a journey. it all depends on the words used and what order they are placed. it's an adventure creating vivid images from my weirdly fascinating mind, which is not always pure!
or in fact, the words just might make you smile
