'curtis'
this was a 'semi-commissioned' piece. curtis played rugby with my son jacob, they developed a great friendship very quickly and as an ex rfu coach he was a pleasure to watch on a rugby pitch. as part of the club development i offered my artistic skills and offered my services to produce a portrait of the winning ticket holder - well, kirsty bought an enordiate number of tickets and sadly lost. the winner showed no interest in having an artwork made so i decided that a worthy winner would be curtis/kirsty (his mother). neither has any idea, they asked me about my toughline observations and just said it was something i did!
popping around to the house with jacob as a decoy i presented a wrapped painting, luckily all were in and loved the work.
just handed over this painting to a very surprised young man - he didn't have a clue I had painted it. enjoy curtis woodham
