'listen to the kids'
i don't remember this warning being on any of the records i purchased in the 70's or 80's even lps such as new boots and panties, never mind the bollocks etc, etc. they started to appear when cds started to be 'happening' as i recall, it of course could be bullshit on my part! we as parents were aware when i son was growing up, eminem was a favourite of his, now that he parental advisory labels on them
"parental advisory" is a warning label on recorded music that signifies explicit content, such as strong language, violence, or sexual themes, which may be considered unsuitable for children. it was introduced by the recording industry association of america (riaa) in the late 1980s and is used voluntarily by record labels to inform parents about the content. the label itself is a notification, not a legal requirement, and is intended to help parents make informed decisions about what their children listen to.
mad as a box of frogs is an eclectic series of original works intricately contained within a defined box frame size. the words and phrases used may resonate with people, situations, or even abstract concepts. the content often weaves together elements of humour and confrontational themes. many pieces creatively manipulate the shape and form of the text itself, drawing the viewer's attention. the artwork explores various themes through a mixed media approach. while the phrase evokes a visual image, it is not meant to be taken literally.
it serves as a figure of speech that reflects the work that excites me and ideally captivates the viewer as well.
