'this it'
a follow on from work produced in the 'pure' series. i once stood looking at a piece of artwork at an exhibition, and a young couple walked briskly in front of me and pointing, one said to the other, 'this is the artwork you have been waiting for' - not true, but it sounds lovely and something i would love to happen with my work.
mad as a box of frogs is an eclectic series of original works intricately contained within a defined box frame size. the words and phrases used may resonate with people, situations, or even abstract concepts. the content often weaves together elements of humour and confrontational themes. many pieces creatively manipulate the shape and form of the text itself, drawing the viewer's attention. the artwork explores various themes through a mixed media approach. while the phrase evokes a visual image, it is not meant to be taken literally.
it serves as a figure of speech that reflects the work that excites me and ideally captivates the viewer as well.
