'u-punk' came about when avoiding swearing, i use the phrase 'don't be daft', also at the time i was listening to a number of retro 90's electronic music in the studio - the image is a loose reference to Daft Punk (who were a French electronic music duo formed in 1993 in Paris). part of the pure series that explores short phrases or sentences. they are simple to look at, yet they can hide a complex process of colour choices, positioning and relationship to the text. there's a saying that a picture paints a thousand words, but sometimes a phrase or a selection of words can raise questions or take you on a journey. it all depends on the words used and what order they are placed. It's an adventure creating vivid images from my weirdly fascinating mind, which is not always pure!
or in fact, the words just might make you smile
