answers on a postcard extends and develops ideas from the ‘mad as a box of frogs series’. it’s a dilemma: original or limited edition. the question often comes with conflicting answers. in this case, it’s original. is that weird?
as someone who loves words, phrases, and humour, this work brings all three together. these phrases make me laugh, and hopefully the viewer gets a giggle too. there’s no grand hierarchy — just language doing what it does best: landing, lingering, and occasionally misbehaving.

each piece is hand-painted on canvas, paper, or board, finished with the aid of a model maker’s magnifying lamp and a 5/10 brush — a quiet concession to failing eyesight and an honest nod to the labour involved. every work is individual, considered, and unapologetically singular.

and i hope they give the viewer a giggle too.
